Andra Day and Andi Matichak

Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day, is an American R&B/Soul singer-songwriter. Apart from receiving a Grammy Award and Golden Globe Award she is also nominated as the winner of an Academy Award. Andra Day is a talented and powerful artist. It's not like she's the throwback R&B specialist, however her background in gospel jazz and the blues is evident and is a perfect fit for today's music. The debut of her album Cheers to The Fall (2015) she broke in to the Top Ten R&B/hip hop charts and earned a few Grammy nods. In 2017, her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack was also recognized by an Academy Award. Amen (2018) Take Care of Your Troubles (2020), and her Golden Globe-winning performance in Billie Holiday, in The United States against Billie Holiday(2021) have continued to raise expectations for her second album. Andra was born Cassandra Monique Batie on Edmonds Washington. As a child within San Diego and surrounding areas her first performance was at church, and then enrolled in the School of Creative and Performing Arts. In the years following after graduation, she began to gravitate towards modern R&B as well as jazz, pop and but found herself drawn back into the soul and jazz performers of the old. A major break came in the form of a concert she gave was caught by Kai Millard Morris who subsequently took some of Day's music to husband Stevie Wonder. The Motown legend then connected Day with industry veteran Adrian Gurvitz. Allied together with Gurvitz and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin label Day built up a Youtube following before signing to major label Warner Bros. n 2012 Day made her debut track Forever Mine on YouTube. The song was picked up rapidly from radio DJs. In 2015, after signing to Warner Bros. Records she started working on her debut record Cheers To The Fall featuring Adrian Gurvitz. The song "Rise Up" was a hit worldwide within social justice movements. Day was nominated for two Grammy Awards which included Best R&B Album. The United States Versus Billie Holiday was her second studio album, released in 2019 and an album that was conceptually based on the life of Billie Holiday. That same year, she was a part in The United States Vs. Billie Holiday (2020), a biopic of Holiday's career. Andi Mathichak was born in the US. She began her career in television shows like Orange Is the New Black and 666 Park Avenue and Blue Bloods. Her first film role was as Allyson in the series of horror Halloween. Andi Mattichak was born May 3, 1994 in Framingham Mass.
