Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. She started her Broadway career performing in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. As the character Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with many famous directors and actors for stage productions and on television. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford's next venture will be an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway return will take place on March 20, 2023. He is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the musical. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over a Century. She was also the lead in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Other Broadway performances for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver origins native, and now splits her time in Los Angeles.
