Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career shortly after enrolling at Stanford University. Early successes were with films such as Pleasantville, Election and Legally Blonde. However, it was her portrayal as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde's box office smash that marked the beginning of her career. Witherspoon won the Academy Award in 2005 for her performance on Walk the Line. She made her debut as a feature film in the comedy The Invisible Man. She then appeared in several shows on television, such as House of Lies Whitney, Better Call Saul and The Invisible Man. She also appeared in The Dictator as well as The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Apart from her acting career she is an excellent painter, and exhibits her work at numerous galleries.
